Welcome and Thank You for Joining Us on USDLA News

Thousands of people annually come to our website – researchers, students, educators, trainers, public servants – all wanting to learn, contribute, or otherwise improve their opportunities. Given the unique footprint of the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA), this is not surprising. With almost 30 years of history, we are the oldest non-profit group devoted to advancing distance learning.

We are active in K-20, corporate, government, military, telehealth, and homeschooling. We embrace all forms of distance learning media, from networked to physical media, and all forms of delivery from videoconferencing to online learning. So whatever your interests, there’s a place here for you! Indeed, our standing invitation is to come learn from a community that is broader than your own.

Please note these dates that are important to the distance learning community:

• November 9 through 13, 2015 National Distance Learning Week
• November 18, 2015 The USDLA/Presidents' Forum annual policy forum, Washington, DC
• May 10-12, 2016 USDLA National Conference & Awards Program, St Louis, MO

Just as we’ve been helped along the way, we want to reach out to others, lend a hand and together move forward to advance the practice of distance learning. If you would like to be a part of that, we’d be delighted to have you. Simply go to www.USDLA.org and click on the Membership tab.

Again, welcome!

Elaine Shuck
President, USDLA
